Vulnerability Analysis Tools for Cryptographic Keys
The key generation module is the most critical and secret component of any cryptographic system. In this project, we extent the idea of vulnerability analysis to scrutinize key related operations in an RSA cryptosystem. We will develop a checklist, criteria and software tools for checking the key generation aiming at securing a system against cryptographic attacks. In addition to strengthen the keys, we will study measures that help us to reduce the damages upon intrusion in a cryptosystem, including measures that (i) hide the critical information in RAM, (ii) check against contamination of critical information, and (iii) check against changes of procedures before any key generation.
