Abstract
In this talk, I will discuss the problem of queries
on data with inherent uncertainty. I will focus on
querying location values in a moving-object database system,
where recorded location values in the database are just
samples of the continuous movement of objects.
Three problems will be addressed:
1) Evaluating and limiting uncertainty;
2) Using uncertainty trajectories to represent location data;
3) Expressing spatial-temporal queries over uncertain data.
I will also talk about my research on probabilistic queries which
quantify uncertainty information in query answers.
