Clustering on Uncertain Data
Line
Speaker: Jackie NGAI Wang Kay

Abstract

Clustering has widely been used as a technique of data mining for discovering cluster patterns of data. But until recently there is no research in applying it to data with uncertainty such as location data reported from a moving vehicle positioning system where the vehicles' actual locations may have changed when the reported location data is received. In that example, a vehicle will have an uncertainty region around the reported location where its actual location lies within. In this talk I will present my research in clustering such uncertain data and efficient methods for that application.
