Security in Outsourced Association Rule Mining

Abstract

Association rule mining helps companies analyze data and find useful patterns for business decisions. Outsourcing data mining service lets an outside expert to assume responsibility for operational details, allowing the company to focus on the more important business issues. Direct access to private transactions from mining service provider may violate privacy and reveal business secrets. In this talk, I will discuss the security issues in outsourcing association rule mining and some ways to protect the private transactions.
