Passport and Visa
Visitors from countries can enter Hong Kong without a visa for periods varying from seven days to six months, depending on their nationalities. Anyone wishing to stay longer than the visa-free period must apply for a visa before travelling to Hong Kong. Delegates from countries requiring visas should apply at the Chinese diplomatic and consular missions in their respective countries before their departure. Currencies and Credit Cards
The unit of Hong Kong currency is Dollar. Coin denominations are 10 cents, 20 cents, 50 cents, 1 dollar, 2 dollars, 5 dollars and 10 dollars. Bank notes are 20 dollars, 50 dollars, 100 dollars, 500 dollars and 1,000 dollars. Foreign banknotes and traveler's checks can be converted into Hong Kong dollar at foreign exchange banks and other authorized money changers. One U.S. dollar is equivalent to about 7.8 Hong Kong Dollars. Major credit cards, including VISA, American Express, Diners Club, and MasterCard are accepted at most hotels, department stores, and restaurants.

Climate and Clothing
October is one of the most pleasant months of the year in Hong Kong, with temperatures ranging from 26 deg. C - 28 deg. C and humidities down to around 70%. You can expect clear, sunny days and little rain.

Transportation from the Airport to the Conference Venue

Airport Express
Airport Express, a railway, is the most convenient and fastest mean to go to the conference venue from the airport because airport express' boarding platform is connected to the arrivals hall of passenger terminal. Take the airport express to the Kowloon Station. After that, take the airport express hotel shuttle bus route number 2 to go directly to the conference hotel, Sheraton Hong Kong.

The single journey fare from the airport to the Kowloon Station is HK$80 and the return ticket fare to and from the Kowloon Station is HK$140 (return ticket is valid for one month). The hotel shuttle bus is free of charge if you take the airport express. The airport express runs at 10 minutes intervals and its journey time from the airport to the Kowloon Station is about 20 minutes. The hotel shuttle bus runs at 20 minutes interval and its journey time to Sheration Hong Kong depends on the traffic condition. It usually takes around 15 to 20 minutes.

AirBus
The bus route number A21 (yellow/burgundy double-deck buses, also known as Cityflyer), can bring you directly to the Tsim-sha-tsui MTR station, which is just next to the conference hotel. Its journey time depends on the traffic condition and usually takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour. To take the bus, you have to locate the Ground Transportation Center, which is outside the passenger terminal. Single journey fare is HK$33.

Taxi
Taxi station is located at the Ground Transportation Center. The fare from the Airport to the hotel is around HK$250-HK$300. The journey time is around 30-45 minutes.
